Net chats may attract service tax!

Computers, Computers & Technology Add comments

Consumer internet giants like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft’s MSN have been offering telephony like facilities through their messenger software. Some of the Officials in India are now urging the government to charge these service providers tax for their chat programs since it has declined the amount of communication through telephones. Many people have instead used these chat programs. International calls are no more done through telephones but through these chat programs.

As a result of these changes thereby decreasing the national income, it is possible that the Indian government impose service taxes on these programs. If so, it will be a nightmare for all of the Indians.
